DO you want to know facts about Kiwi's? Well hear are some interesting facts

My class has been learning about Kiwis, we were going to a place called Rangihoua to spot some Kiwis. But before we went to Rangihoua we wrote this factor poster about Kiwis.

When we were in there:

After dinner, the moon rose and the sun dove we grouped off to go Kiwi spotting I grouped off with Komene (our teacher aid). We could hear Kiwis but couldn't find them we were like explorers hunting for food that was my experience but my favorite part about that night was we hid away from people. My favourite fact about kiwi was, Kiwis can run up to 12 miles per hour and they can live up to 25yrs to 50yrs.

Here is the information I have hope you learned something

My narrative 2021

In my class, we have been learning how to write narratives, since we were learning about explores, Kupe, and captain cook. So we had to do a narrative on explores or anything if we were gonna copy an article we had to put it into our own words or we could make up a story. I found it hard to write a narrative because my mind was blank and I didn't know what to write about until I figured out something and made my story up.

Waka trip to Hokianga!!!

One day on the island of Tuatara, The island was small but the best island around. It had heaps of trees and it was just so pretty that it is undescribed. One family lived on that island for 12yrs. This Family was going to another island called Hokianga. They were going there because their ancestors set sail there, so they were going there to learn more about their Tupuna (ancestors). “I have waited so long for this day and this day has finally come,” said Portiki. Portiki is the youngest sibling. He is a boy who has curly black hair with blue ocean eyes. Wakaro, the oldest sibling who has brown luxurious hair with blue and green eyes. “But you know why we are going there, right Potiki?” Wakaro replied “To go eat the food,” Potiki said with a grin on his face “ No!! We are going there to learn more about our Tupuna, man you're one of those taringa tori boys who never listen,” said Wakaro.

While they were talking dad called them down to come eat breakfast before they head off. They ate their breakfast and went to pack their bags and some food so they don’t get hungry out in the sea. They set off but before they went they said bye to their family. They left, they were rowing and paddling and their dad was calling the calls “paddle left paddle right straight slow down your paddling too fast you know I'm only an old man”. Well, Portiki would row 3 times then stop for a snack then row again then stop for a water break well dad and Wakaro were rowing their hardest like they were in a race racing the fastest team in the world. They were halfway there, “15 more minutes until their sons” Dad smiled.

Dad and Wakaro stopped for a break. SUDDENLY...They saw something swim underneath, how did they know something was swimming underneath their waka? Because there was a big black patch that popped out of nowhere. Swimming closer and closer to them, they were terrified. Portiki said, “ This is the end of my life, I had so many things I wanted to do nice meeting you brother” While he was carrying on talking the mystery thing swam under there waka then came back and smashed into there waka Potiki was holding on to the seat so tight he never wanted to let go he was to his seat like he’s gonna get K.O by someone.

So Wakaro yelled out to dad, “Dad help me paddle the waka!!!” Dad and Wakaro paddle so hard that their veins in their body were popping out like daisies. Finally, they got away from it. They were trying to figure out what it was, a bluefin came above the water. Portiki, said, “it’s a shark, I knew we were all gonna die and no one ever listens to me!” But Dad knew it wasn’t a shark because their fins are slightly bigger so the mystery thing swam closer and closer and they thought it was gonna ram their waka but it jumped over and they saw it. It was a big light blue dolphin; it jumped over them and Portiki eyes glittered with enjoyment.

After that they decided to carry on to Hokianga. They made it to Hokianga. Wakaro eyes amazed lots of people everywhere and there were heaps of big waka, Wakaro replied “one of those waka’s has to be one that is our tupuna were on” So they parked their waka, and the first thing that Portiki saw with a big smile on his face “FOOD!! Lots of yum food” Wakaro told him with a grin on his face “ I already told you we are not here for the food!” Dad laughed “ you two always fight but it’s funny when to use fight it’s like I'm watching a movie”. After that, they went to the people to find out more about their ancestors and what happened in their past. Meanwhile, they finished learning about their ancestors and went back home. They got home and told their mum what they learned. When you in a situation and a big black patch appears out of nowhere in the ocean then you swim for your life or row for your life :D

Struggling how to understand reading? Learn how to Summarizing

In class, we have been learning how to read comprehension skills of summarizing. We would read an article then get all the keywords and main ideas and put them into a summary, in my eyes I think that summarising is getting all your main ideas and putting it into a nutshell. I'm kind of good at summarizing but I need more practise to get better. Like they always say good practice takes good time.

We made a booklet with heaps of people's from our past we had to get their photos and put them in our booklets then write down the key information about me, we did this so we can pick someone and give them a quiz on it but I didn't give a quiz on anyone. I would like to find out more about Te Ruki Kawiti.
