My holiday adventure

In class, we have been learning about figurative language such as personification. We also have learnt about Some; Others sentences structure and responding to feedback to improve our work.

I am confident at Some; Other sentences but with personification still getting there what mean is trying to fit/use it in my work.

Competition is on

I had just finished an action packed day with the Breakaway Holiday program. Now it was time to return to Kaikohe. The wind danced through my hair as I was running towards my bus line. We all hopped on the bus and scattered everywhere on the seats. On my bus, I had a singing comp. Whaea Michelle announced, “That  the prize was a 50$ warehouse voucher”, the competition was on, but some people like singing; other people rather die than sing.  I'm one of those other people. Everyone was keen as to win whaea Michelle spoke, “who wants to go first?” no one raised their hands until 6 seconds later this boy Paarani raised his hand to sing first the song he sang Te ohomaira everyone got out their phones and started recording he sang... his voice was like an angel he stopped everyone started clapping loud. I really wanted to put my hand up to sing for the 50$ voucher but I was way too shy.

Whaea Michelle said, “Who's next?” Then another boy raised his hand. It was Te ihi everyone recorded him and he sang the same song - his voice was as smooth as jazz. After that, a girl put her hand up (for the first time in forever) Hera sang the same song. It was like the song was the most popular song in the world because everyone kept on singing, her voice was nice and smooth too. Up next was the boys all the way at the back of the bus they all got together and sang tu tera mai nga iwi lytrell started it off and one by one the rest of the boys started to join in.

Everyone was cracking up because they were all off note and beat and they all started to die off. It was funny, then it was Kash and Kayden's turn to sing a different song. The song they sang was Koia ano te aroha. Their singing was okay in my opinion. Whaea Michelle loved it because they sang about GOD. I was egging on taitokerau to sing and she sang Te aho mai ra. Her voice was like two angels combined. It was beautiful. Then at the end it was the boys again who had a whole album and all the way back to school they were just singing their hearts out.

That was my favorite part of the day and I will never forget that day. I meet heaps of new people.I can’t wait for the next holiday program. Mostly the bus was the best part of the day:)
