My earning, saving and interest slides

In class, I have been learning about money and I think work. I think this is good for me because it will help me in the future. Saving money is good but saving money and paying interest is even better, because if you pay some of your money to the bank for interest you get half of it back. I recon you should go compound interest instead of simple interest because you will get more money from compound interest.

Here is my sides I did about money.

My persuasive writing model text ingredients

That’s Me - Predator Free

"An estimated 25 million native birds, eggs, and chicks are cruelly eaten alive by introduced predators every year in New Zealand," Forest &Bird  said. Does this concern you? If so, you are not alone. I believe that we all have a role to play in protecting the native flora and fauna of Aotearoa.

Imagine a New Zealand with no thriving, lush bush, no beautiful, unique endemic birds, no weird and wonderful native reptiles: this could become a reality.  Laziness, indifference, business - why are people doing nothing? Proverbs 12:10 says, ‘a righteous man cares for his animals.’ We must care enough to take action so our threatened species are here for future generations.

Some people believe that the Predator Free 2050 ambition is a pie in the sky; I believe it can be achieved. If we work together, if we get our families on board, if we upskill and get out there, then our wildlife will thrive .  According to Preadatorfreenz.org, areas not under pest management have only  5% of chicks survive. In areas where predators are controlled 50 - 60 % of chicks survive. You see, ordinary people like you are out there; ordinary people, like you, are learning, trapping, monitoring and teaching others.

Lastly, the more people doing their part, the more our ecosystems and our people will flourish. By joining our KCS Enviro group you will save species, strengthen ecosystems, make KCS a better place to learn and play and gain life-long practical skills. It's us ordinary people that do the extraordinary.  So get on board - let’s be one accord.

My picture mapping

This term my class has been learning about the key things about persuasive writing. We did these picture maps to help us remember the text that my teach wrote. This is my picture mapping and I think it's good enough for me who kind of doesn't know how to draw. Down bottom is what I tried to draw and do.

Here is my picture map.

Basic Facts Goal Setting

In class, term 3 the first week back my class has been setting goals for their work this year. The goals we are setting are based on our basic facts wall. We have also been thinking about if we set the goals how are we going to complete them.

At the moment I'm on brick 22

My holiday adventure

In class, we have been learning about figurative language such as personification. We also have learnt about Some; Others sentences structure and responding to feedback to improve our work.

I am confident at Some; Other sentences but with personification still getting there what mean is trying to fit/use it in my work.

Competition is on

I had just finished an action packed day with the Breakaway Holiday program. Now it was time to return to Kaikohe. The wind danced through my hair as I was running towards my bus line. We all hopped on the bus and scattered everywhere on the seats. On my bus, I had a singing comp. Whaea Michelle announced, “That  the prize was a 50$ warehouse voucher”, the competition was on, but some people like singing; other people rather die than sing.  I'm one of those other people. Everyone was keen as to win whaea Michelle spoke, “who wants to go first?” no one raised their hands until 6 seconds later this boy Paarani raised his hand to sing first the song he sang Te ohomaira everyone got out their phones and started recording he sang... his voice was like an angel he stopped everyone started clapping loud. I really wanted to put my hand up to sing for the 50$ voucher but I was way too shy.

Whaea Michelle said, “Who's next?” Then another boy raised his hand. It was Te ihi everyone recorded him and he sang the same song - his voice was as smooth as jazz. After that, a girl put her hand up (for the first time in forever) Hera sang the same song. It was like the song was the most popular song in the world because everyone kept on singing, her voice was nice and smooth too. Up next was the boys all the way at the back of the bus they all got together and sang tu tera mai nga iwi lytrell started it off and one by one the rest of the boys started to join in.

Everyone was cracking up because they were all off note and beat and they all started to die off. It was funny, then it was Kash and Kayden's turn to sing a different song. The song they sang was Koia ano te aroha. Their singing was okay in my opinion. Whaea Michelle loved it because they sang about GOD. I was egging on taitokerau to sing and she sang Te aho mai ra. Her voice was like two angels combined. It was beautiful. Then at the end it was the boys again who had a whole album and all the way back to school they were just singing their hearts out.

That was my favorite part of the day and I will never forget that day. I meet heaps of new people.I can’t wait for the next holiday program. Mostly the bus was the best part of the day:)
